Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services (CMSWS) has completed evaluation of the questionnaires submitted to the residents within the McAlway Capital Improvement project in May 2005. The purpose of the questionnaires was to decide if the storm drainage system needs in the area should be addressed within the CMSWS Capital Improvement Program. This program ranks projects based on severity of flooding and potential for public safety impacts. Neighborhoods with severe and dangerous flooding are addressed first. At this time, we have identified more than 90 projects that will take over 10 years to resolve. In order to determine the McAlway project schedule, CMSWS will compare the project area needs with other project areas and annual funding levels. Updates will be posted on the website and the neighborhood will be notified when this project is selected to move forward.
