February 4, 2009 – (Charlotte, NC) – Due to recent inclement weather, the City of Charlotte Solid Waste Services began providing it's Curb It! collection services by 10 am. The delay in starting service has impacted collection occurring on schedule; not all residents will receive collection today. Those who normally receive collection on Wednesday, but do not get collected today will be collected later this week. Crews will begin collecting where they stopped, tomorrow. Residents are asked to place their materials at the curb as scheduled and to leave them there until collected. 

To ensure garbage collection, residents are asked to:

• Place collection materials curbside by 6:30 am on collection day
• Bag all garbage before placing it in the rollout cart
• Please allow 3 feet between the rollout cart, trees, parked cars and other obstacles
