August 30, 2005 – (Charlotte, NC) – The City of Charlotte Solid Waste Services' Collections Division will operate on a normal collection schedule on Labor Day, Monday, September 5, 2005. The Collections Division manages the CURB IT! program, which provides garbage, recycling, yard waste, and bulky items curbside collection once a week.

Solid Waste Services' Special Services Division will observe the Labor Day holiday. The Special Services Division collects garbage (garbage only) from small-businesses that generate less than 512 gallons of garbage per week. Small-business garbage customers who normally receive collection on Monday will receive collection on Tuesday, September 6, 2005.  Other customers will receive service as scheduled, including customers serviced on Tuesday.
