The "Meta un g-o-o-o-L reciclando" campaign designed to educate the Latino community about recycling has taken three awards at the 2005 International Association of Business Communicators/ Charlotte Crown Awards.
The program developed as a collaboration between Solid Waste Services Department and the City's Corporate Communication's Division took a Silver Crown Award for the campaign plan, a Gold Crown Award in the publications category and won "Best of Show" of all the campaigns, publications and electronic communications submitted.
In addition to staff from both departments, a Latino review committee was developed to guide the education process.
