April 9, 2009 – (Charlotte, NC) – The City of Charlotte Solid Waste Services collection crews will collect garbage, recyclables, yard waste and bulky items according to the normal schedule on Good Friday, April 10 and Easter Monday, April 13.

Residents are reminded of the following tips to ensure collection:

• Place collection materials curbside by 6:30 am on day of collection
• Bag all garbage before placing it in the rollout cart
• Please allow 3 feet between your rollout cart, recycling bins, yard waste, bulky items and other obstacles        
• Rinse and remove lids from all recyclable containers before placing them in the recycling bin
• Trimmings from shrubs and trees must be no longer than 5 feet in length and no larger than 4 inches in diameter
• Yard waste should be separated in piles small enough for one person to carry – less than 75 pounds
• Call 311 to schedule bulky item collection
