January 20, 2009 – (Charlotte, NC) – Due to recent inclement weather, the City of Charlotte Solid Waste Services has suspended all Curb It! collection services for the remainder of the day.
Only garbage collection service will resume tomorrow, January 21 and for the rest of the week. Collection crews will not collect recyclables, yard waste and bulky items.
As a reminder, collection is already on a one-day delay due to the MLK holiday on Monday, January 19. Residents are asked to put their garbage out based on the one-day delay schedule and leave it curbside until it’s serviced.
To ensure garbage collection, residents are asked to:
- Place collection materials curbside by 6:30 am on collection day
- Bag all garbage before placing it in the rollout cart
- Please allow 3 feet between the rollout cart, trees, parked cars and other obstacles
For up-to-the minute information on the CURB IT! collection schedule, residents are advised to call 311, check local media listings, The Government Channel (Channel 16) and the Solid Waste Services website at http://curbit.charmeck.org.
