CURB IT! Crews On Schedule
- CURB IT! collection back on schedule after being delayed all week
- Customers should place items at curbside as normal and leave there until collected
July 30, 2004 (Charlotte, NC) – CURB IT! collection is back on schedule today after being delayed all week. Friday customers in Solid Waste's north, south and east service areas began receiving collection this morning at 6:30 a.m.
On Sunday, July 25, unknown vandals trashed 40 solid waste collection vehicles at the Louise Avenue equipment lot delaying garbage, recycling and yard waste collection this week.
"We are extremely proud of our staff," said Sheldon Smith, solid waste services assistant director. "Our crews and city staff have worked diligently to get service back on schedule and their efforts have paid off."
The service delays impacted approximately 29,400 customers in the City's north, south, and east portions of town each day. Customers on the city's west side were not affected by the delays.
