January 17, 2008 (Charlotte, NC) – Recent inclement weather in the Carolinas caused City Solid Waste Services to suspend yard waste and bulky item collection Thursday, January 17 and Friday, January 18. The suspension of those services allows crews to focus primarily on garbage and recyclable collection. Yard waste and bulky item collection services will resume Tuesday, January 22.
Due to the one-day delay in all collection services in observance of the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. holiday, customers scheduled for yard waste and bulky item collection on January 17 and January 18, will receive service on Friday, January 25 and Saturday, January 26.
For up-to-the minute information on CURB IT! collection schedules, customers are advised to check local media listings, The Government Channel (Channel 16) and the Solid Waste Services website at http://curbit.charmeck.org.
The City of Charlotte Solid Waste Services CURB IT! collection program provides collection of residential garbage, recycling, yard waste and bulky items from curbside once a week on residents scheduled collection day.
