GIS Preliminary Plan Subdivision Layer

Effective July 1, 2009 as part of the Subdivision Approval Process for a Preliminary Plan, Planned Multi Family, Mixed Use Development or Commercial Subdivision digital submittals of the subdivision boundaries and the approved subdivision site plan will be required.  A shapefile and associated index files (in NAD 1983 NC Grid) of the original outer bounding polygon of the subdivision will be required with all submittals of a subdivision application.  A DWG file of the CAD layers associated with approved site plan model (in NAD 1983 NC Grid) will be required at plan approval.  The initial submittal of the shapefile and the DWG of the approved site plan must both be e-mailed to Subdivision_GIS@ci.charlotte.nc.us (please note there is an underscore between the words Subdivision and GIS).  The purpose of the digital submittals is to create a GIS Preliminary Plan Subdivision Layer to provide useful information in many areas of land development and general information about subdivisions.  The City of Charlotte-Planning Department Subdivision Application has been revised to include the digital submittal requirements.  Please direct questions or comments to Brent Wilkinson phone: (704.336.8329) email: bwilkinson@ci.charlotte.nc.us and/or Marci Sigmon phone: (704.336.8328) email msigmon@ci.charlotte.nc.us
