TOD - TS - PED Review

Transit Oriented Development (TOD), Pedestrian Overlay (PED) and Transit Supportive (TS) Districts

TOD / TS districts are part of the City's Zoning Ordinance. They are designed to be applied to the areas within 1/2 mile of a rapid transit station.
This important meeting will continue a process that may recommend changes to the Zoning Ordinance for the TOD and TS Zoning Districts

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Planning Department is considering changes to the development requirements for properties subject to the Transit Oriented Development (TOD), Pedestrian Overlay (PED) and Transit Supportive (TS) districts.

The Planning Department staff will begin reviewing the TOD and TS districts to gauge how well the two districts are achieving their intent.  Public involvement will play an important role in this project.  We would welcome your participation in the review of the TOD and TS standards. The initial meeting was on November 16, 2006

The purpose of the initial meeting is to review the history of transit and land use planning in Charlotte and review comments from a consultant who reviewed the TOD and TS zoning districts this summer.  The meeting will conclude with an issue identification excersise to help direct topical areas covered at future meetings.
