Rezoning Petition 2002-023

Petitioner:

DeWitt F. McCarley

Proposed Zoning:

Text Amendment:  The Mecklenburg County Zoning Ordinance has regulated piers, moorings and floats, marine railways, breakwaters and swimming areas in the unincorporated areas of Mecklenburg County.  The City has exercised its extraterritorial jurisdiction.  Therefore, the City's Zoning Ordinance might now be applicable to areas in the extraterritorial jurisdiction where zoning approval is necessary for the uses referred to above.  The proposed provisions for the City's Zoning Ordinance will be in Section 12.515 (which has been reserved) and are the same provisions that  appear in section 12.515 of the Mecklenburg County Zoning Ordinance.  The City's Zoning Ordinance's definition section is amended to add definitions for piers and breakwaters.
