New Bern Transit Station Area Plan

New Bern Transit Station Area Plan
(Adopted on July 28, 2008)
(Please note that this is a LARGE PDF file)

The Planning Department held two public meetings to present the Plan for the New Bern transit station area on January 17 and February 7, 2008.  The Planning Committee received public comments at their February 19 meeting, and unanimously recommended adoption at their March 18 meeting.  City Council heard public comments on the Plan on June 9, 2008.  Council's Transportation Committee unanimously recommended Plan approval on June 23.  Through the process a number of revisions to the plan were proposed. Council adopted the plan with the proposed revisions on July 28, 2008.

The station area plan focuses primarily on land use and transportation and updates the adopted plan for this area, the Central District Plan (1993).

As a property owner, please be aware that the area plan could recommend a change in the future use of property within the study area.  You can learn more about station area plans on our website.  Click Here for more information regarding the South Corridor Transit Stations.
