Steele Creek Area Plan Public Meeting Notice

Kickoff Meetings - June 23rd & June 25th

What is an Area Plan
An area plan is a policy document that provides the framework for future growth and development and serves as guidance for elected officials when making land use and zoning decisions.

The area plan will focus primarily on land use, transportation, design and environmental issues and will update adopted plans for this area:  the Southwest District Plan (adopted 1990) and the Lower Steele Creek Mixed-Use Development Center (adopted 1992).

The area plan could recommend a change in the future use of property within the study area.

Who May Participate?
Business and property owners, area residents and other stakeholders are encouraged to attend this meeting to provide input in developing a vision to help shape future development of the area.

Public Input
There are numerous ways for the public to have input in the Steele Creek Area plan development process.  Follow the process online.  The website will be updated throughout the plan development process.

If you have any questions about the plan or planning process, contact Crissy Huffstickler at 704-336-4697
