Registration Opens for Bobcat/Sting Youth Basketball Leagues

Registration runs through the end of October. Various leagues play at 20 parks department recreational centers around Charlotte-Mecklenburg..

This basketball program is open to youth, ages 5-18 in a variety of age divisions.  The program is "co-recreational," with teams open to both boys and girls. Participants will compete against youth from all over the Charlotte area and learn the fundamentals of the sport. The basketball season runs from November 2005 through March, 2006. Registration fee is $55, which includes uniform and a participation trophy.

The Charlotte Bobcats/Sting Youth Basketball Network includes about 19-thousand young basketball players across the Carolinas, in leagues sponsored by parks departments, YMCA's, and other community organizations.  The Bobcats and Sting provide low cost team jerseys and sponsor a variety of instructional clinics for players, officials, and parents.
