Calling all churches, non-profit organizations, and individuals:  Clean out your attic or garage and join Mecklenburg Park and Recreation Department for Ray’s Community Yard Sale Saturday, October 29, 2005 at Independence Park, 300 Hawthorne Lane.   The sale will run from 9am to 3pm.

This yard sale is an opportunity to raise money.  Rent a table today and sell your treasures.  Tables are $25 each.  Please register as a seller by October 24, 2005.  For additional information, contact James Worsley at (704) 336-5954. 

Proceeds from table rentals at Ray’s Community Yard Sale will help sponsor programs for homeless youth and teen such as summer day camp and self-esteem classes.  Other proceeds from the sale go to individuals, clubs, and organizations that rent tables.  They are free to buy, sell or trade antiques, jewelry, tools, small furniture, junk, or other items.

Ray is the official mascot of Mecklenburg County Park and        Recreation.  His name stands for “Recreate All Year.”
