“PLAY GOLF AMERICA DAY” OFFERS FUN AND INSTRUCTION FOR ANYONE INTERESTED IN LEARNING ABOUT GOLF, MAY 17

Charlotte, NC--  Mecklenburg Park and Recreation invites anyone interested in golf to the 2008 Play Golf America Day at Charles T. Myers Public Golf Course, 7817 Harrisburg Road, on Saturday, May 17 from 10am-4pm.  This FREE event offers many fun and instructive golf activities. It will help anyone who wants to learn how to play golf, or how to play golf better. Golf equipment from many manufacturers will be demonstrated and on display.

This event is hosted by Ratcliffe Golf Services and Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation Department in cooperation with the Carolinas Section Members of the Professional Golfers Association (PGA).  PGA professionals will give free golf lessons all day.  Prizes will be given away hourly. This event includes a putting contest for major cash prizes. Peter Johncke, known as the “TrickShotMaster” will host free trick shot shows at 1lam and 2pm. Youngsters who attend Play Golf America Day will receive a free club.  All participants will receive a “goody bag” of golf novelties and information. Thank you.
