Charlotte, NC--  Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation invites families to a “Beach Party” June 13, 2009, 2pm-6pm, in front of the band shell beside the lake in Freedom Park, 1900 East Blvd. .

This is a FREE event!  Activities will include a hula hoop contest, “ole fashion” bathing suit contest, shag and two step dance contest, surf simulator and slip and slide path for adults and children.  A fishing tournament begins around 11am for the first 100 children, and the Coca-Cola Discovery Vehicle will visit the event.
