Famous Woman Explorer Visits McDowell Preserve to Tell Of Her Adventures Around the World, June 29

Charlotte, NC--  Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation hosts an inspiring talk by renowned explorer Helen Thayer on Sunday, June 29 at 5pm at McDowell Nature Preserve, 15222 York Road.  Admission is FREE, but preregistration is required.

Thayer was the first woman to travel alone to the North Pole, the first woman to walk across both the Gobi and Sahara Deserts.  She is a best selling author and international speaker who has appeared on Good Morning America, The Today Show, and in National Geographic.  Her talk will inspire the adventurous spirit of everyone, especially women.  She will meet and greet members of the audience after her talk.
