CHARLOTTE MECKLENBURG YOUTH FORUM
Youth Council Forum Invites Young People and their Families To Start a Dialogue about Issues facing Youth in our Community
Charlotte, NC— A new consortium of public and private agencies that deal with difficult social issues facing young people invites youth and their families in Charlotte-Mecklenburg to begin a dialogue about these issues.
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Workforce Development Board Youth Council invites young people, ages 16-21, their families, and the news media to attend the group's first annual Youth Forum on Saturday, February 22, 2008 from 4pm-6pm at Martin Luther King, Jr. Middle School, 500 Bilmark Avenue.
A panel of experts in family life, teen and gang problems, substance abuse, and other social issues will discuss these and other problems with the public at this forum. Participants will include counselors, psychologists, job counselors, a minister, and other experts who will be on the panel and/or available for individual consultation. The Workforce Development Board can assist youth and families to address many needs and introduce them to a variety of youth services.
Music, entertainment, refreshments, door prizes and giveaways will be provided at this event. For additional information, please contact the Charlotte/Mecklenburg Workforce Development Board at 704 336-6270.
