Recreation Specialists program for youth and teens from all backgrounds, races, and areas of Mecklenburg County who are potentially influenced negatively by family, environment, and peers. Recreation and leisure activities are provided for constructive use of "free time," social, physical & educational activities, life skills training, team building, cultural enrichment and other creative outlets are used to influence positive life choices. 

Programming services provide the opportunity to take positive risks.  Recreational activities integrate team-building, leadership, communication, cooperation, problem-solving, and social skills. 

Recreation Specialists provide recreation programs throughout Mecklenburg County to better serve the community, however, all programs are open to all participants regardless of location.

Enjoy a camp that has weekly business ventures such as entertainment, culinary arts, banking, clothing design with a focus on entrepreneurship, financial planning, marketing techniques, leadership and much more.

MeckTeens Survivor
During this camp teens will experience challenging and exciting adventures to help build self-confidence, leadership and other skills. Adventures include rock climbing, ropes course, rafting, hiking, swimming and more.
