'TARP' RECREATION STIMULUS PACKAGE AIMS TO GET US MOVING AGAIN! • Winget Rec Center Open House - The sessions are FREE and have activities for children, ages 12 and under. Each will offer active games, arts and crafts, and refreshments
• Applicants Sought for Park and Rec Advisory Councils - Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation Department seeks applicants to serve on two new citizen advisory councils: the Senior Citizen Advisory Council and the Cultural Arts Advisory Council
• Tackle Football at Elon Park - Youth tackle football team forming at Elon Park
• Summer Camps - Check out many camps that Park and Rec offers throughout the summer!
• Brown Bag Wednesdays - These sessions are for boys and girls, ages 6-12.  All sessions are FREE!  Participants engage in a variety of fun activities including crafts, African drumming, wacky science, sports, wellness and fitness activities.

GETTY UP! Pony rides, arena rides and horseback riding on trails in the 1,300 acre nature preserve are offered at Latta Equestrian Center in Latta Plantation Nature Preserve. Call 704.992-1550 to make a reservation. Be sure to visit all of the great things to do in the nature preserve - visit the Nature Center,  Carolina Raptor Center and Historic Latta Plantation. A fun family day trip - close to town but a world away!
