Park and Recreation owns several special facilities operated by an outside organization. 

Carolina Raptor Center
One of this country's most extensive collections of birds of preynestled on about 57 acres of pine-oak forest

Equestrian Center
Center includes 16 miles of equestrian trails with show grounds, lighted arenas, guided trail rides, horseback riding lessons and a tack shop.

MLK Middle School
Located at 500 Bilmark Avenue.
