The Revolution Recreation Center is closed.....
The new Revolution Regional Recreation Center will be built in its place. Revolution Regional Sports and Learning Academy will be developed on existing acreage owned by Mecklenburg County, adjacent to the existing Revolution Park Golf Course. The first phase of the project will comprise a sports and learning forum area and many amenities including a 200-meter track training facility within a tensile or pneumatic enclosed structure, golf driving range and practice facility, a targeted population fitness center, computerized learning spaces/classrooms, boxing/wrestling training area,administrative offices, and conference facilities.

New synthetic field open
This synthetic field is one of several major improvements coming to Revolution Park in West Charlotte. A new regional recreation center is now in planning stages, often referred to as a "sports and learning academy." With construction scheduled to start in the fall of 2007, it has a $10-million budget. It is expected to include a new golf club house, indoor track, computer learning center, classrooms, offices, daycare, and rooms for community use.
