2008 Summer Day Camps

Ray's Splash Planet Camp Information

Summer Camp Registration begins March 3, 2008

ABOUT OUR CAMPS

  • Camps are staffed by professional Park and Recreation employees. 
  • Camper to staff ratio = 10:1
  • Lunch is provided for all camps. Campers will need to provide their own 2 daily snacks and drinks. 
  • Campers are required to provide their own swim suit & towel, tennis shoes, sun block, water bottle, and bug spray.
  • No money, toys or games.  We'll be too busy to play or spend!
  • One of a kind RSP T-shirt is provided for all camps
  • Camp hours: 8:30am-4:30pm
  • Ages: 6-11yrs * unless otherwise noted
  • Cost:  $150/week
  • Pre and Post Camp Supervision available from 8-8:30am and 4:30-6pm for $25/week
  • Camp space is limited so register as soon as possible. You can register and check availability online at eParks here.

This camp is designed to serve as an opportunity to engage in different activities both fun and educational geared towards helping with growth and development. Indoor/outdoor fun. Swimming included. Activities: Arts & Crafts, Basketball, Swimming

Triple Sport Fun Camp

July 7th - July 11th

This camp is designed to serve as an introduction to basketball, soccer and tee-ball in a non-competitive and fun environment.  Activities include: basketball, soccer, tee-ball and swimming in a fun environment!

Camp Otter

July 14th - July 18th
(Camp is Full)

This camp is designed for the nature lover!  Activities include hiking, creek exploration, fishing, canoeing, swimming, arts & crafts and an overnight campout at McDowell Nature Preserve! Camp out under the stars at one of the County's neatest parks for a night, (parents welcome to join)! Enjoy these activities as well; swimming at the splash park, exploring the Irwin Greenway and cool art projects!

Camp Waterspout

Come learn what the water has to offer!  Children do not need to be proficient swimmers but should be comfortable in 4 ft of water; swim skills will be evaluated and presented to each camper as a skill for life long fitness.

Jr. Lifeguarding
(Course No. 32820)
August 4th - August 8th
Ages: 11 - 14yrs

The best camp to introduce children ages 11-14 years to Life guarding using the American Red Cross Guard Start Program.  This program will focus on prevention of aquatic accidents, response in an emergency as well as leadership skills which prepare youth for any future job.  All participants must be able to swim 25 yards unassisted. This program that provides a foundation of aquatic leadership & knowledge, attitudes, and skills preparing them for future and successful completion of the Red Cross Lifeguarding course. Must know how to SWIM.

This camp incorporates everything Ray's Splash Planet has to offer:  activities in the gymnasium, the arts and crafts room, the splash park, outdoor fields, a field trip and exploring Irwin Creek Greenway!

Ray's Mini Tennis Camp
(Course No. 33330)
June 23rd - June 27th
Ages: 5-7yrs
Cost: $100
Times: 8:30am - 1pm

This half day camp is designed for kids to learn the fundamentals of tennis, make new friends, have fun achieving various hand-eye coordination skills and allow for swim time!  Scaled down tennis racquets are provided for use during this week long program.

Ray's Youth Tennis Camp
(Course No. 33331)
August 11th - August 15th
Ages: 8-10years
(Camp is Full)

This camp is designed for youth to learn the fundamentals: basic strokes, rules of the game and tennis etiquette.  Campers will also participate in group games, arts and crafts and swim time!  Players will need to provide their own tennis racquets.
