Horses in Charlotte? Sure!  Latta Plantation Equestrian Center features show grounds, lighted arenas, guided trail rides, horseback riding lessons and a tack shop at Latta Plantation Nature Preserve in northwestern Mecklenburg County. With 16 miles of equestrian trails winding through the woods, this is the perfect spot for a peaceful afternoon ride. Reservations are required for lessons, parties, hayrides and trail rides.

Horse owners can also bring their own horses to Latta Plantation Nature Preserve and enjoy a day riding the trails.  Find out more information about Latta Plantation Nature Preserve and what is required for horseback riding at that location. 

OFFERINGS AND FEES

Guided Trail Rides: $25.00 per person

• Ages 12 and older
• Children under 12 can ride the horses in the show arenas, not on the trails, unless they have experience or we see they are able to handle a horse. Children under 12 can request a test for a Jr. Trail Rider card.

Arena Rides: $20.00 per person

• Ages 7 and older
• A Jr. Trail Rider test can be done during an arena ride at no charge or separately for $20.00.

Pony Rides: $8.00 per person   

• Ages 2 to 7 (100 lbs. Limit )
• Walk-ins welcome

Sunset Rides: $60 per Rider:

• Ages 18 and older
• 2 hour trail ride
• "Cowboy" dinner included (steak or chicken
• Alternating Saturday nights

Western & English Riding Lessons:

• $30.00 per person for Group Lessons
• $45.00 per person for Private Lessons
• One Hour sessions

Group Events and Corporate Parties:

Let us help you plan a family, church or corporate outing!  Enjoy trail rides, pony rides, bonfire, food, drinks, roasted marshmallows and a tractor drawn or horse drawn hayride.  Please call for details.

Tractor-Drawn Hayrides:

• $50.00 Per Hour
• $30.00 Per Half-Hour
• Accommodates up to 25 People

Summer Day Camp:

• Ages 7 and older
• Monday - Friday sessions each week during summer

Equestrian Center Birthday Parties:

• Pony Ride Birthday Parties
  • Age 7 years and younger
  • Up to 12 guests; $10 for each additional rider
  • One Pony included, plus 'pony train'
     
• Trail Ride Birthday Parties:
  • Age 12 and Up
  • Party Includes 6 riders. $15 for additional rider.
     
• Arena Ride Birthday Parties:
  • Ages 7 and up
  • Up to 10 riders; $12 for each additional rider

All birthday parties start at $175.00 for 2 hours and include a hayride, pony express and hostess. 

• Face Painting for $25
• Small bounce house for $25
• Large bounce house for $40
• Both bounce houses for $55
• Heated grill available for cook outs at $10.00 for the small grill and $25.00 for the large grill.
