Neighborhood Action Plans

The City of Charlotte seeks to provide effective and efficient public service to all neighborhoods.  However, as neighborhoods throughout the City experience continuous growth and decline due to demographic and economic changes, the need for City services also fluctuates.  Consequently, measuring the growth and changes in a neighborhood becomes a priority.

The Neighborhood Action Plan (NAP) initiative is a response to City Council's proposal to make neighborhood revitalization a priority in Charlotte's neighborhoods.  NAP teams were established to implement revitalization plans in "challenged" neighborhoods.  Currently, there are eight NAP teams in the following revitalization neighborhoods:

"Threatened" and "stable" neighborhoods are also given attention through prevention and maintenance activities.  Many of these neighborhoods are part of the Neighborhood Improvement Program
