Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA)

The Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA) program addresses housing needs of persons with HIV/AIDS and their families. The program consists of supportive services, tenant based rental assistance, resource identification, and short-term rent, mortgage and utility payments.
HOPWA is a regional program serving Mecklenburg and surrounding counties. The program, administered by the Regional AIDS Consortium, serves the Charlotte Metropolitan Statistical Area. This area includes Cabarrus, Gaston, Lincoln, Mecklenburg, Rowan, Union, and York Counties.
