Car Seat Information

Child Passenger Safety

Locally, studies show that 92% of all car seats are installed incorrectly.  Some of the most commonly found problems include children less than 1 year of age forward-facing, loose harness straps, and seatbelts loosely securing car seats in vehicles.

During 2007, Safe Kids Charlotte Mecklenburg inspected over 1800 car seats and helped educate parents in their proper use.  Trained technicians inspect each child's seat, educate the parent about the proper installation of that seat, and help parents understand the current and future restraint needs of their child.  Visit the Safe Kids eventcalendar for location and schedule information.
