You have an opportunity to become involved in a groundbreaking community effort to tell the story of Mecklenburg County government.

 

Mecklenburg County's Public Service & Information Department is producing and broadcasting a half-hour, prime-time series called, "The Mecklenburgers." The concept is to tell the story of Mecklenburg County government's programs and services in a creative, entertaining way.

 

"The Mecklenburgers" are a fictitious family and a group of television production workers whose challenge each week is to produce a show about County government that is meaningful to the average person. Each episode focuses on a different County service or department and follows the family and crew as they deal with the challenges of producing such a show.

 

The ensemble cast includes two of Charlotte's most well-known personalities, former WSOC-TV anchor Suzanne Stevens and WRFX radio commentator Robert D. Raiford, as well as other local actors. The show is the first-of-its kind for Mecklenburg County (or any County government in the country).
