Public Service:
Osborne served one term as Mayor of Charlotte from 1879 to 1880.

Later he became a North Carolina State Senator and the North Carolina Attorney General.

Personal:
Osborne was a law partner of William C. Maxwell (who later also became Mayor of Charlotte).
