The Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office Transport Division is utilized for the safe and secure movement of inmates or arrestees from one location to another.  The Transport Deputies are also tasked with making service of all non-voluntary mental commitment orders as well as the transporting of subjects to area mental health.   The Transport Division is responsible for transferring inmates from one jail to another, to and from other county jails, and to and from Federal and State correctional facilities.  The Transport Division is also responsible for the timely movement of arrestees from special "sting" operations, DWI checkpoints, etc. to the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Arrest Processing Center.
