The plan review services for projects utilizing the NC Rehabilitation Code have moved into the OnSchedule process. To submit drawings for review, please follow the steps below.
Step 1 - Application
Submit an OnSchedule application with an Address Verification Form. The Address Verification Form must have the customer portion completed and signed upon submittal. OnSchedule applications are available as a PDF from this website. The Plans Examiners will determine the length of review time needed.

Step 2 - Preliminary Meeting notification:
If the submitted data is sufficient, the OnSchedule Coordinator will call the contact person to:
- Schedule a preliminary review with the Rehab Code Plans Examiners.
- Notify the customer of the meeting and the information needed for the meeting.
If the submitted data is insufficient, the coordinator will call the contact person to collect additional data.
Step 3 - Review Slot Notification:
If the preliminary review is successful, the OnSchedule Coordinator will call the contact person to:
- Notify them of their review slot and the number of drawings needed for the review.
- Confirm a selected Scheduled Review slot.
Step 4 - Gatekeeping:
All documents for Scheduled Review must pass successfully through gatekeeping and into the OnSchedule Coordinator's hands by noon the day before the date of scheduled review. There are three options available.
a - Pre-gatekeep:
Arrange a meeting with gatekeeping staff before the scheduled review. Early gatekeeping is encouraged to ensure your documents are ready. Call 704-353-0522 to schedule a pre-gatekeeping meeting.
b - Gatekeeping on Submission:
Drop off the plans with the gatekeeper the morning before your scheduled review. The Gatekeeper routes them to the OnSchedule Coordinator after the "ok to review" is issued.
c - Self Gatekeeping: (Future service)
Check plans via an online gatekeeping tool.

Step 5 - Plan review is performed.
If plans are Approved:
A permit will be issued the day after the review, subject to completion of the permit application and outside agency approval.
If plans are Not Approved:
If plans are not approved, revised plans must re-enter the system after addressing review comments.
