Apartments, Townhouses & Condominiums
No Special Recycling Bin Required!

Many complexes offer recycling and provide large bins for you to deposit your recyclables after separating your glass, plastic, and food cans. When you are ready to drop them off at the designated recycling station located at your complex, simply place the materials into the properly marked recycling container.

Use paper grocery bags to keep your magazines, telephone books, and catalogs in. Toss the bag into the container marked paper.

Red recycling bins (like the ones used for curbside recycling) are available to you upon request. Contact your resident manager for details.

Important note: To accommodate the needs of multi-family recycling, guidelines have been modified slightly from curbside customers.

If you have any questions about apartment and condominium recycling or about containers, please call the Solid Waste Services Customer Service Center at 311.

Glass Bottles & Jars

All glass containers may be recycled. Just rinse them out and remove the lids before taking them to the designated recycling area. No need to worry about labels!

Magazines, Catalogues, Cardboard & Telephone Books

Save them with your newspaper and toss them in the designated container at the recycling station located in your complex. Cardboard must be flattened.

Newspapers

Include the inserts delivered with your newspaper.

Spiral Paper Cans

These are the familiar snack and dry beverage containers (e.g. chips, canned biscuits, frozen orange juice). Remove the plastic or metal top lid (o.k. to leave the bottom) and rinse, or wipe out any remaining food residue.

Plastic Bottles & Milk Jugs

Rinse out (especially the milk jugs) and remove the lids. To save space in your apartment and at the recycling station located at your complex, flattened the containers by stepping on them.

Aluminum, Steel, & Tin Cans

Aluminum soft drink and beer cans may be recycled. Just make sure they are empty. Steel or "tin" cans are used to package a variety of foods (even dog & cat food), and they are also recyclable. Rinse or wipe out any remaining food residue. You can recycle the can lid too!

Important: No paint or aerosol cans!

Don't Waste Another Day!

Apartment, Condominium, and Townhouse recycling is easy to do once you know how to, and Now You Do!

These items listed that you are able to recycle from your apartment or condo is just the tip of the iceberg. The County operates many recycling centers for your recycling needs and many more items can be recycled at the full service centers.
