Davidson was one of the first communities in the north Mecklenburg area to arrange for curbside recycling. The following items may be recycled:

  • Glass containers (without lids)

  • Aluminum soft drink cans

  • Tin or steel cans

  • Newspapers and advertising supplements

  • Magazines

  • Plastic bottles (for soft drinks, milk, etc)

  • Liquor bottles (no tops)

  • Spiral paper cans

  • Cardboard boxes must be broken down and not larger than 3 x 3
  • No paint or aerosol cans

Other Recycling and Garbage Options: The North Mecklenburg Recycling Center, off of Highway 21 East, in Huntersville will accept other trash and recyclables such as cardboard, paper, electronics, construction materials, mattresses, and even paint cans, pesticides, etc.

The center is open Tuesday - Saturday; 7am - 3pm

You must separate your recyclables and place it in large metal containers at the recycling center.

Note: Recycled yardwaste of compost and mulch is also available for pick up at the site for a very reasonable cost. Get prices at the recycling center.
