Volunteer Opportunities for City and County Festivals

The County, in conjunction with Net Impact, Charlotte City Center Partners, and Hands-On-Charlotte, is organizing volunteer efforts to make Charlotte a more environmentally responsible city.  We seek to foster better waste reduction efforts and recycling at city festivals.  To make this a successful initiative, we need your help as a volunteer.  If you choose to donate your time and energy, we will ask you to do a shift where you will be involved with:

  • Educating and encouraging event attendees to recycle
  • Collecting and depositing recyclables to designated areas
  • Changing recycle bin bags

Volunteers are at the heart of our efforts.  We could not do this without you.  You will be making a difference for us and future generations.  Grassroots efforts can be the catalyst for long-term change.    Please remember the famous words of Margaret Mead:  "Never underestimate the power of a small group of people to change the world.  In fact, it's the only way it ever has."  Consider being that change by volunteering to make Charlotte a world-class city in waste reduction and recycling.

For volunteer opportunities, please see the calendar listed below. Choose your events and complete the form to secure your place in assisting in this important endeavor.  A volunteer coordinator for the events you choose will be in touch close to the event's date to assign your shift and give you further details.

Please note:  A volunteer coordinator for the events you choose will be in touch close to the date to give you shift options and further details.  Shifts will run between 3 to 5 hours long.
