Waste Reduction's PLANT program is an active partner with other groups working to make Charlotte a more livable community with high quality of life and a beautiful and healthful environment. Our partners range from the North Carolina Wildlife Federation to The United Way. Through partnerships and working together, the whole community benefits. PLANT partners with other government departments to make government

more effective and responsive to the environmental needs of urban communities. The Partnership provides education, technical assistance and/or funding for environmental projects initiated by urban community groups.
This includes:

- developing and training of staff, speakers and presenters
- providing resource research materials, literature, books, etc.
- promoting workshops through various methods.
- developing pilot projects emphasizing composting, soil conservation, native plants, water conservation, etc.
