Mecklenburg County Board of County Commissioners Resolution of Support

WHEREAS, Mecklenburg County desires to improve the physical quality of community life; and

WHEREAS, the expense of collecting and disposing of litter is an ever increasing expense to the County; and

WHEREAS, a clean environment contributes to the emotional, physical and economic well-being of our citizens; and

WHEREAS, education is the key to community and environmental stewardship; and

WHEREAS, the Keep America Beautiful program will assist greatly in reducing the improper handling of waste in Mecklenburg County and therefore reduce litter.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the County Commission of Mecklenburg County that we support the certification of Keep Mecklenburg Beautiful as an affiliate of Keep America Beautiful and recognize the efforts of these organizations in preventing litter.
