Mission Statement

To empower the citizenry of Mecklenburg County to take greater responsibility for enhancing their environment, thereby resulting in a community of pride and choice for people to live, work and recreate.

The mission statement is fashioned after the one developed by Keep America Beautiful, Inc. which is: Engaging individuals to take responsibility for improving their community environment.

The Mission Statement in Action

More than 44 UNCC student volunteers spent 176 hours cleaning up 330 pounds of litter and 50 pounds of recyclables. Just a few of the interesting items recovered were car tires, a screen door, a speed limit sign and several orange work barrels.
