Scope of Services:

• Enforce the Minimum Housing Code in each of the six towns within Mecklenburg County (excluding Charlotte) by ensuring that dwelling units maintain a minimum standard of living conditions.  This encompasses any structure from a storage building to a multi-family apartment building used as a dwelling unit.

• Enforce the N.C. State Building Code on all housing code repairs, fire-damage repairs, and moved houses.

• Provide assistance to the other Trades Inspections groups when those divisions are short-handed.

• Enforce the Mecklenburg County Junked and Abandoned Vehicle Ordinance in the unincorporated areas of the county.
