Mechanical/Plumbing: Journeyman Examinations
|
Journeyman Plumber
- Person demonstrating knowledge competent to supervise the installation of associated plumbing systems.
- Must work for a state licensed contractor.
- Prerequisite of 4 years experience under state licensed contractor.
Mechanical Fuel Burning Equipment
- Person demonstrating knowledge competent to supervise the installation of mechanical fuel burning equipment.
- Must work for a state licensed contractor.
- Prerequisite of 4 years experience under state licensed contractor.
Duct
- Person demonstrating knowledge competent to supervise the installation of associated duct systems.
- Must work for a state licensed contractor.
- Prerequisite of 4 years experience under state licensed contractor.
Gas Piping
- Person demonstrating knowledge competent to supervise the installation of associated gas piping installation.
- Must work for a state licensed contractor.
- Prerequisite of 4 years experience under state licensed contractor.
Refrigeration
- Person demonstrating knowledge competent to supervise the installation of refrigeration systems.
- Must work for a state licensed contractor.
- Prerequisite of 4 years experience under state licensed contractor.
Pipe Fitting
- Person demonstrating knowledge competent to supervise the installation of boiler systems.
- Must work for a state licensed contractor.
- Prerequisite of 4 years experience under state licensed contractor.
Mechanic Decorative Appliance
- Person demonstrating knowledge competent for the installation of decorative appliances. (no gas piping)
- Must work for a state licensed contractor.
- Prerequisite of 2 years experience under state licensed contractor.
Contractor Decorative Appliance
- Person demonstrating knowledge competent to supervise the installation of decorative appliances. (no gas piping)
- Prerequisite of 2 years experience under state licensed contractor.
Process Boiler Piping
- Person demonstrating knowledge competent to supervise the installation of process boilers or piping.
- Must work for a state licensed contractor.
- Prerequisite of 4 years experience under state licensed contractor.
Ventilation
- Person demonstrating knowledge competent for the installation of hoods and ventilation equipment.
Note:
- Deadline for application is the last working day of the month preceding the exam.
- $20.00 fee per exam/per category.
- Maximum of 2 categories per exam.
- Failure to show for exam will result in forfeiture of examination fee.
- Examinee shall provide government issued picture ID.
- Documented proof of field/trade experience shall be required to be seated for the exam.
- All exams are OPEN book exams, based on the NC Codes being enforced at the time.
- Code Books are not furnished for Mechanical or Plumbing exams.
- NO OTHER reference material is allowed during examinations.
- Examination results will be mailed to each applicant, do not call the office.
- Cell Phones and pagers shall be turned OFF during the exam.
- Examinee may review previous exam results no later than 30 calendar days prior to next scheduled exam.
- First 50 Examinees (25 Mechanical & 25 Plumbing) Maximum per test session will be seated.
