Mecklenburg County Code Enforcement makes interpretations of the N. C. Building Code available through:
> Residential Technical Answer Center (RTAC): Phone 704-432-7822 or Fax 704-432-6723
> Commercial Technical Answer Center (CTAC): Phone 704-336-3829 or Fax 704-336-3839.
Interpretations are available for RTAC 8 am to 5 pm and for CTAC 7:30 am - 4:30 pm on normal work days by phone, fax or walk-in at 700 N. Tryon Street. Customers may also request an electronic code interpretation by selecting the appropriate category below and filling in the related form.
Note that all CTAC and RTAC code interpretations are limited to the information presented by the customer, and are subject to later verification that site conditions match the customer's description. Final code interpretations and requirements depend on actual site conditions, with field inspector interpretations taking precedence over RTAC or CTAC interpretations.
