Mecklenburg County's Code Enforcement is a consolidated authority serving the City of Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, and the six towns of Cornelius, Davidson, Huntersville, Mint Hill, Matthews, and Pineville and covering 520 square miles. We are one of the largest authorities in the Southeast issuing over 70,000 permits a year and performing over 300,000 inspections a year. We pride ourselves on handling these services efficiently in a business-like and professional demeanor. We also know that the sheer size of such an operation can become an inconvenience in itself to customers. This website is specifically designed to mitigate those inconveniences.
At Mecklenburg County, we strive to handle volume service requests better than anyone else in the code enforcement field. To that end, we invest in state-of-the-art technology and lean heavily on automation in our field inspections. At the same time, we believe we must be prepared to address quickly smaller detail problems that customers incur in their work with us, no matter whether a huge, commercial project or a modest, residential renovation. We like to think of ourselves as having a big business approach with small business service qualities.
This new website design is a large step we are taking in trying to cultivate those small business service qualities which everyone desires, and at the same time, provide easy access to information and solutions.
