The Parkinson Association of the Carolinas annual 2009 Parkinson's Disease Symposium for patients, family members, and care providers is:

Cost:  $20 per person which includes lunch and breaks. 

The Speakers and topics include:
- Dr. Danielle Englert from the CMC Neuroscience and Spine Institute to discuss Deep Brain Stimulation
- Dr. Alexander Troster from UNC Department of Neurology to discuss non-motor challenges of Parkinson's
- Dr. Reza Bolouri from the Alzheimer's Memory Center to discuss Lewy Body Dementia.

Davidson Senior Scholars - Free educational programs

The Davidson Senior Scholars was formed to provide programs that stimulate continual intellectual and cultural growth. The general format of the meetings is that of lecture followed by question and answer. The speakers are experts in their fields and may include Davidson college professors, local physicians, and business professionals. Programs are free.

Monthly meetings take place from 2:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month
