End Underage Drinking
 

WHAT: The Mecklenburg County Health Department's Fighting Back Program, along with partner agencies from across the area, holds a news conference to kickoff Alcohol Awareness Month Kickoff and take a fresh look at how to End Underage Drinking.

WHEN:  Thursday, March 30, 2006, 10 a.m.

WHERE: Charlotte-Mecklenburg Government Center
600 East Fourth Street

WHO: Mayor Pat McCrory, Mecklenburg County Commission Chairman Parks   Helms, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Captain Dave Haggist and    representatives from Fighting Back and their partner organizations. 

WHY:  With underage drinking at the forefront of recent tragedies in our    area, this year's Alcohol Awareness Month activities take on even more   importance. This is the first in a month long series of events aimed at finding new ways to stem the growing tide of underage alcohol abuse.
