Project ASSIST stands for the American Stop Smoking Intervention Study. The purpose of Project ASSIST is to prevent deaths and health problems attributable to tobacco use. In North Carolina, Project ASSIST is focusing on helping adolescents, pregnant women, and tobacco users who want to quit.
