Client eligibility:
All Mecklenburg County children are eligible for this services.

Services:

• Blood lead level screening
• Case Management for lead poisoned children
• Environmental home investigations
• Community education to increase lead poisoning awareness

Statistics:
From July 2001 – June 2002, 1,423 children under 6 years of age were screened for blood lead levels, reaching 12% of the target population under 6 years of age. 15 children were found to have blood lead levels above the maximum safe level.
