The Administrative Support Services Division provides a comprehensive array of professional support services across the spectrum of Public Health activities. These activities include:
PATIENT ACCOUNTS
Patient Accounts is responsible for processing claims and payments for service patients received through Mecklenburg County Health Department. All insurance inquiries, individual account payments, and billing to third parities are processed through this Department. In addition, we provide support to programs by posting funds to specific programs and offering reports that provide assistance for budget requirements.

MEDICAL RECORDS
The Medical Records department, though one department, is located at the Billingsley Road and Beatties Ford Road sites. Approximately 40,000 records are handled monthly for the following clinics/services of the Health Department: Family Planning, WIC, Immunization, Refugee, STD, Myelo, Women's Health, correspondence, faxing, audits, Nurse / Dr. requests, duplications, name changes and annual purging. Additionally, the Mailroom/Stockroom staffs are included within this department.

PATIENT REGISTRATION/DATA ENTRY
Patient Registration, a component of the Business Division, is responsible for switchboard operation, the registration of patients; collections for services received, appointment scheduling, and information accuracy (including all payor sources). The department also handles routine patient inquiries/problems, and works closely with other departments to insure patient satisfaction.
