On October 1, 1995, through a five-year agreement with Mecklenburg County, Carolinas HealthCare System assumed management responsibility for most of the Mecklenburg County Health Department. These two organizations will continue working together under a revised agreement approved by the Board of County Commissioners in November 2000. The revised agreement improves funding for the contract over the previous five-year flat funding and strengthens reporting of fiscal and programmatic information.  County monitoring of this contract is taking place through a quarterly Management Information Report that indicates goals and objectives, outputs and outcomes as well as financial information of program areas. Periodic updates from Carolinas HealthCare System regarding the contract are given to the Board of County Commissioners.
