Kite Aerial Photography (KAP) has been used as a method of remote sensing for well over a century, however in the last 20 years there has been renewed interest in this method of data acquisition.
GIS Day is pleased to announce this new addition to its outreach program with K12 students. This high-school based project focuses on the use of kites in the history of aerial photography, the process and art of KAP, and the following geospatial characteristics of KAP:
high spatial resolution
high temporal resolution
potential for multi-spectral data collection
