2002 NACO AWARD WINNER

Child Safety and Crime Prevention

County employees are provided tips and suggestions from Security Officers to ensure that their personal belongings are secure from theft/loss. Our Officers can provide such preventive measures as engraving property.

Security Police now have four NHTSA / AAA Child Safety Technicians: (Officer Marcie Moody, Officer Tracy Baumgardner, Officer Gay Sain, Officer Chris Bradbury). These officers will set up check points for anyone interested in having their child restraint systems checked. There are over 7,000 different variations of car seats and child restraint systems available. Officers are trained to recognize seats that have been recalled and to recommend the proper seat for the child's weight and age.

There are now permanent locations for child safety seat inspections. The MCSP location is at 301 Billingsley  Road, and will be open the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month from 12:00 noon - 4:00 pm.

Schedule by appointment only.

704-581-5725  or  704-581-5948
